Alvin was born January 25th, 1954, in Sioux City, IA to Maurice and Frances (Rumelhart) Evernham, the second of six children. Alvin was a diesel mechanic and worked at Condon Motors, Motor Express, Caterpillar, and Supreme Carriers throughout the years. He was also a self-employed mechanic, one of the best.
Alvin had a love and appreciation for cars, starting from an early age. Spending his life rebuilding and fixing cars to race, drive and enjoy. Two of his prize possession cars were his 66 GTO, and 73 Roadrunner. He could talk about cars and tell stories for hours about the first cars he ever had and all the drag racing he did. He lit up talking about the good old days. He loved watching westerns and enjoyed music and singing his old favorites. He had a special place in his heart for animals, especially his beloved dog Grace Ann.
Alvin seemed to be able to make friends wherever he went.
