1. Call to Order
The regular April 2025 meeting of the Sergeant Bluff-Luton Board of Education was ca led to order by President Jeff Wright at 6:00 a.m. The meeting was held in the Elementary School Art Room.

President Wright welcomed the visitors and asked if anyone present wished to address the board.

4. Public Hearing for Fiscal Year 2026 Budget
Public comment on Budget Year Statement that the public received from Woodbury County- as required by Iowa Code 24.2A. Mr. Janzen presented the budget. No oral or written comments were given.
5. Approve Fiscal Year 2026 Budget

9. Recognition
The fo lowing recognitions were given:
Congratulations to Mrs. Kuhl and her Pro Start Students who competed in the State FCCLA competition. This was SBLs first time attending & competing at the conference. The students shared they had the best time and enjoyed networking, competing, attending breakout sessions and were
able to assist with other competitions. We competed in Pride of Iowa (Ava Hannemann), Entrepreneurship (Brooklyn Robinson, Andrew Lincoln and Jack Schoenfelder) and culinary arts (Dylan Swearingen).
Entrepreneurship was selected to represent Iowa as the finalist at the National FCCLA in Orlando, FL this July!
Culinary Arts was also selected to represent Iowa as the finalist at Nationals!
Wrestling: Bo Koedam, Zayvion E lington, Ayden McRoberts were named to the Sioux City Journal a l area wrestling 1st team. Ben Walsh was named to the second team.
Congratulation to the SBL Middle School Show Choir for their awards this year:

Middle School Band Solo / Sma l Group Clinic on Feb 27th at SBL. Many students participated and received high ratings.
Congratulations to Miss Struck and the 2nd and 3rd graders for their wonderful performances at their concerts back on February 28th & March 14th. 1st graders will perform on April 11th.
10. Administrative Reports
a. Mrs. Adams and Mrs. Konopasek
Mrs. Adams provided pre-registration numbers for the Primary School for next school year. Mrs. Konoposek provided enro lment numbers, and discussed the ISASP testing, Spring assessments, K-5th Summer, Camp. She provided upcoming events including staff evaluations and IPDP's.

12. Superintendent Report
a. Graduation
Graduation is scheduled for Sunday, May 18th. We are planning to have the ceremony outside as it has been for the last several years. A contingency plan is in place in case of severe weather.
b. Bus Inspections
Mr. Janzen presented information from the annual bus inspection.
c. Facility Update
Mr. Janzen shared updates on the progress of the East Campus.
