1.Call to Order
The Special March 27, 2025 meeting of the Sergeant Bluff-Luton Board of Education was called to order by Vice President Jason Gehling at 5:00 p.m.    The meeting was held in the Elementary School Art Room.
2.Public Hearing for Fiscal Year 2026 Budget
A public hearing took place on the Budget Year Statement that the public received from Woodbury County- as required by Iowa Code 24.2A.  Mr. Janzen shared the inaccuracies of the document taxpayers received from the county that is required by the state.  He also shared the impact the special education deficit that all schools carry has on taxpayers. Public comments were given concerning the property valuation increases and keeping the cost down.

4.Closed Session Per Iowa Code 21.5 (1)i - To evaluate the professional competency of an individual whose appointment, hiring, performance, or discharge is being considered when necessary to prevent needless and irreparable injury to that individual’s reputation and that individual requests a closed session AND 21.5(1)a - To review or discuss records which are required or authorized by state or federal law to be kept confidential or to be kept confidential as a condition for that governmental body’s possession or continued receipt of federal funds.
All guests left the meeting for the closed session.  The closed session took place in the Administration Office for interviews of candidates for the position of Director of Student Services.    Motion was made at 5:20 to go into closed session.
