(SB) - Donna G. Loisel, 96, of Sergeant Bluff, IA, passed away February 4, 2024 at a local hospital. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, 9th at 2:00 p.m. at Shepherd of Peace Lutheran Church in Sergeant Bluff. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Salix, IA. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff.

Donna was born on September 23, 1927 in Minneapolis, MN to Otto and Evelyn (Nelson) Wick. She lived in Minneapolis until she was 7 and then moved to Chippewa Falls, WI until she was 14. She then moved back to Minneapolis and graduated from South High. Donna attended DeGuilles Academy and took their hair stylist course. She was united in marriage to Alcide Loisel on February 7, 1948 and traveled the world with military life. Together they raised 4 children and had 15 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. Over the years she worked with orphanages overseas and helped build churches here in the U.S. She was very active in her church all through her life.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughters: Lois (Norman) Plantenberg and Laurel Tainter.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Larry Loisel; daughter, Linda Choquette; grandsons: Mark Plantenberg, Michael Loisel and William "Bill" Choquette; and son-in-law, Thomas R. Tainter.
