Terry “Mike” M. Christianson, (70)

 (SBA) - Mike Christianson, 70, of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2025. Funeral Services will be held 11:00am Thursday, February 27, 2025, at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, Iowa. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Albaton, Iowa. Luncheon will be afterward at Walker’s in Salix, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4-7pm with family present from 5-7pm Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at the funeral home.

Mike was born on July 27, 1954. He grew up in Sergeant Bluff with his parents Harold and Doris Christianson and siblings Kim, Pat, Karen, Jo and Chris. Mike was a devoted husband to Michelle Christianson, whom he married on March 20, 1993.

Throughout his career, Mike served as a technician at Gelita, where he demonstrated his commitment to workers’ rights as a union steward for many years. Mike was also known for the deer shed he and his father processed deer and smoked meat for many local hunters. Following his retirement, Mike and Michelle embarked on a new adventure as proprietors of Walkers of Salix restaurant and bar.

Mike found joy in life’s simple pleasures - spending time on his boat, fishing in peaceful waters, engaging in competitive games of cribbage, and most importantly, creating lasting memories during yearly family vacations with his loved ones.

Mike is survived by his loving wife Michelle; mother, Doris Christianson, his children; Lee (Courtney) Christianson and their children Serenity, Tyrian and Aria; Brian Christianson and his daughter, Ella, Lynn Roden and her children Awston and Chloe, and Eric Christianson, also survived by his siblings; Pat Christianson (Beth Brickell), Kim (Lynn) Delaney, Chris (Marvin) Pottebaum, and Jo TallBull.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Christianson, siblings; Jody Christianson (deceased infant) Karen Sundberg Conaway and Sharon Sundberg (deceased child), father-in-law, Robert Lager, mother-in-law, Alinda Lager, and brother-in-law, John Cannon.
