NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON THE ADOPTION OF AMENDMENTS TO CHAPTERS 165D.04 and 165A.18 OF THE ZONING ORDINANCES IN SERGEANT BLUFF, IA
You are hereby notified that the Sergeant Bluff City Council will hold a Public Hearing at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, in the City Hall Council Chambers, 501 4th Street, Sergeant Bluff, IA, to hear public comments on proposed amendments to Chapter165D.04 (Fences), and165A.18 (Obstructions to Vision At Street Intersections).
The proposed changes include:
Amending 165D.04 (Fences) to reference section 165A.18 to address sight triangles and to remove the fifteen-foot setback requirement on a corner lot with the requirement that the visual sight triangle requirements is met. The approved fence materials will be modified. The language pertaining to Electric Fences will be updated to meet the requirements of the current zoning districts.
Amending 165A.18 (Obstructions to Vision At Street Intersections) to update the visual sight triangle requirements.
The proposed amendments will be available at City Hall during regular office hours for review by the public and available on our website at: www.cityofsergeantbluff.com
All interested persons are urged to comment, either in person, by agent or attorney, or in writing.
