Lieselotte “Lisa” Runions, 81, of Sergeant Bluff, IA, passed away surrounded by her family on October 31, 2024. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at 12:00 p.m., with a visitation 1 hour prior at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Lieselotte was born on March 19, 1943 in Dürrwangen, Germany to Hans and Gertrud (Deffner) Riedl. She was born and raised in Germany and met her husband, Victor, of 55 happy years at a Guesthouse in Schopfloch, Germany in 1962. They were married in April of 1964. She was a proud military wife and moved throughout the United States before settling in Germany. They moved to Sergeant Bluff, Iowa in 2004 to be with family and Lieselotte became an American citizen. She was a member of Nativity Catholic Church.
Those left to honor her memory include her son: Michael Runions of Germany; her daughter, Barbara (Derek) Jaques of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa; three grandchildren Alyssa Jaques, Sara (Thomas) Medbourn, and Nicholas Jaques; and brothers: Hans (Maria) Riedl and Karl (Gerda) Riedl.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Victor.
