Iowa PBS to feature stops along the Loess Hills National Scenic Byway

(SBA) - Places along the Loess Hills National Scenic Byway will be featured on an upcoming episode of Iowa PBS’s new series Road Trip Iowa. The episode will premiere Wednesday, April 23 at 6:30 p.m. and be rebroadcast Saturday, April 26 at 9 a.m.

In this episode of Road Trip Iowa, journey along the rolling bluffs of loess soil on the northern portion of this byway. Experience unique geological features and peaceful landscapes, with stops at the many hidden gems along the way.

  • Broken Kettle Grasslands Preserve in Westfield 

  • Mid America Museum of Aviation and Transportation in Sioux City 

  • Sergeant Floyd Monument in Sioux City 

  • Buffalo Joe’s Roadhouse in Smithland 

  • Loess Hills State Forest in Pisgah 

  • Loess Hills Lavender Farm in Missouri Valley 

  • DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge in Missouri Valley 

Season 2 of Road Trip Iowa will explore the state along the historic Lincoln Highway Heritage Byway, catch the stunning views on the Driftless Area Scenic Byway, drive over the rolling mounds of the Loess Hills National Scenic Byway, and discover the best places to stop along the way.
