Douglas Allan Haviland was born in Sioux City, IA on October 28, 1950 to Walter and Lorraine Haviland. He was raised with his 3 sisters in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, and graduated from Sergeant Bluff Luton High School in 1968. Doug attended Estherville College for two years, and also served in the Army. Doug passed away peacefully in Scottsdale, AZ on May 27, 2026. Doug was preceded in death by his father Walter in 2000, his Mother Lorraine in 2014, and his older sister Nancy in 2015. He is survived by his sister Willo Harris, brother-in-law Mike Harris and sister Ann Sparks.
Doug was known for his love of Formula 1 racing, motorcycles, the Phoenix Suns and Classic Rock music.
Doug’s last days were in a lovely group home in Scottsdale. He looked forward to Willo and Mike’s visits. The family is grateful for the caregivers and the wonderful devotion to Doug from Ascencion Hospice of Phoenix during his stay in this home.
As Doug requested, there will be no funeral service. His ashes will be scattered at his parent’s grave and out on the desert in AZ.
