SPECIAL MEETING
August 6, 2026
Mayor Nelson opened the Special Meeting of the Salix City Council at 7:00pm on Thursday, August 6, 2026.
Council members present: Denise Burkhart. Tim Skidmore, Brenda Smith-Hansen, Emily Clayton, Gene Monk (via phone call) Others present: Ashley Mareau and Attorney John Hines.
• Mayor Nelson requested a closed session per Iowa Code Chapter 21.5 to discuss strategy with legal counsel in matters where litigation is imminent and where its disclosure would be likely to prejudice or disadvantage the government. Skidmore motioned to go into closed session at 7:01pm which was seconded by Clayton. All ayes, motion carried.
• Motion by Burkhart to adjourn the closed session at 7:44pm, seconded by Clayton. All ayes, motion carried.
The special meeting was adjourned at 7:45pm on motion from Burkhart and seconded by Clayton.
