(SBA) Sergeant Bluff, Iowa - The United States Postal Service marked a historic milestone this week, celebrating 250 years of service since its founding on July 26, 1775. Across the country, post offices honored the occasion with special events, commemorative stamps, and community outreach—and the Sergeant Bluff Post Office joined in the festivities with a sweet local touch.
To thank customers and commemorate the occasion, the Sergeant Bluff branch offered cookies and cupcakes to visitors throughout the day. Pictured above are Postmaster Tracy Bailey and Postal Clerk Rachel Martin, who helped welcome the community and share in the celebration.
The USPS has launched a national campaign titled “250 Years of Delivering”, which includes a new Benjamin Franklin Forever stamp, a family festival at the Smithsonian National Postal Museum, and a commemorative book chronicling the agency’s role in shaping the nation.
