25on25 strikes again making our area parks and playgrounds shine

Sergeant Bluff (SBA) - On April 25th, the 25on25 program in Sergeant Bluff held its second community trash pickup event, with a dedicated group of seven volunteers. This initiative, aimed at promoting community cleanliness and environmental stewardship, brought together a small but mighty team to clean up local parks and playgrounds.

Despite the chilly, cloudy, and windy day, participants made a significant impact, leaving our parks and recreational areas noticeably cleaner. To show appreciation for their efforts, Aggies provided a hot meal for all the participants, adding a touch of camaraderie to the day’s activities.

The 25on25 program encourages residents to contribute to community cleanliness by picking up litter on the 25th of each month. The program emphasizes that even small actions, such as picking up a single piece of litter, can collectively make a major difference.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who participated in the first trash pickup of 2025. Your efforts are greatly appreciated and serve as a reminder of the positive impact we can all have on our community.

To participate in the next 25on25 event in March, residents and community members can contact Dan Hospers at 712-203-0208 or dan@cityofsergeantbluff.com to find out the time and meeting place and to help Aggies prepare for the number of boxed lunches needed for volunteers.
