(SBA) - In a spirited display of community pride, Thunder Weekend gears up to honor American patriots through a series of engaging events. Whether you’re a motorcycle enthusiast or simply eager to participate, Thunder Weekend invites all to join in the festivities.
Saturday, May 25: “The Blessing & Candle Program”
On Saturday evening, Thunder on the Missouri kicks off with two significant events:
Thunder on the Missouri Patriot’s Bike Blessing
Location: Siouxland Freedom Park
All bikes are welcome
Presented by Thunder on the Missouri Chaplain, Rev. Dr. Michael Kumm
Thunder on the Missouri Annual Candlelight Ceremony
Location: Siouxland Freedom Park
A moving tribute to honor our fallen and missing-in-action heroes
Presented by Seamus Gettner of Northwest Iowa American Legion Riders

Sunday, May 26: “Thunder - The Ride”
On Sunday, the excitement continues with the exhilarating Thunder - The Ride:
12:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Thunder riders converge at the American Legion Post 662, 901 E Topaz Dr, Sergeant Bluff, IA 51054, and will be assigned riding positions.
The Sgt Bluff Legion will offer food and beverages for sale to all attendees.
1:30 PM - 1:45 PM: Safety Brief and Ride Prayer
2:00 PM: Thunder on the Missouri 10 will be escorted by local Law Enforcement. We will regroup and flag up at SSC High School before proceeding to the Siouxland Freedom Park.
At approximately 2:30 PM: Riders arrive and encircle the Freedom Park via the walking/bike path. Once parked, the riders will present the Thunder Salute and then adjourn to the Wall area for a brief ceremony.
For those not riding in the procession, Siouxland Freedom Park is located at 1801 Veterans Drive, South Sioux City, NE 68776, and all are welcome to join us there at the specified time.
