Early SC-North surge equates to 55-39 win over SB-L
(Sioux City, IA.) - The North Stars came out fast, and the Warriors found themselves facing an early double-digit deficit in a game played at SC-North (Feb. 2). From there, the SBL squad regained their footing and played a better game by outscoring North in each of the final three quarters to get the win. Scott Dickson was a force inside finishing with 24 points and 9 rebounds.
“It was rough early in the game, they were the aggressor and we were struggling on offense and defense. Our boys showed some toughness to fight back and right the ship to pick up a road win,” said Coach Adam Vander Schaaf, commenting on the contest afterwards.

Warriors tally 71-52 win over Cherokee
(Cherokee, IA.) - The Warriors picked up a tough road win at Cherokee (Feb. 5). Emiliano Gonzalez made 8 three-pointers, which was just one off of the school record of 9 three-pointers in a game held by Conner Groves. Two other Warriors also stuffed the stat sheet. Scott Dickson had 19 pts, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds. Isaiah Jervik narrowly missed a triple-double as he finished with 15 pts, 11 assists, and 9 rebounds.
“We had a very strong night offensively,” said Coach Adam Vander Schaaf We passed and screened well, and we made the right plays at the right times. Everyone contributed, and Emiliano, Scott, and Isaiah had outstanding production tonight.”

SB-L spins off a 63-46 victory over visiting Wolverines
(SB) - On senior/parent night (Feb. 6) the Warriors topped the Wolverines. Three seniors, Emiliano Gonzalez, Scott Dickson, and Ryan Hoffman, all reached double figures for SBL. Fellow senior Cy Gaul also played well to contribute to the win. The victory put the Warriors at 8-10 for the regular season.
“Everyone on the team contributed and it was fun to have such an exciting senior night. It was also a good defensive effort on all ends,” Ryan Hoffman of the Warriors said.
“It was a fun night to pick up a win while also honoring our seniors and their parents. We thank this senior class for all they have done for our program. Cy, Emiliano, Ryan, and Scott have been a pleasure to coach. They are fine young men who have bright futures ahead,” Coach Adam Vander Schaaf commented after the game.
